Album of the Month – February, 2022

Every month we collect our favorite albums of the month. Here’s the playlist with our favorite songs:

Our favorite albums of the month February:

Rick:

Amorphis – Halo

Another jewel on Amorphis’ crown. Their fourteenth album feels like a bridge connecting all the various sounds and spirits the band had incarnated throughout their history, without ever losing their distinctive spirit. Eleven tracks both aggressive and emotional, all working together for one incredible crescendo.

Rutger:

The Body & OAA – Enemy of Love

The Body often works together with artists from a wide array of genres. This month, they released a mainly electronic noise record, in collaboration with producer OAA. The album is distorted and abstract, and meanwhile, the pulsating drum rhythms give the listener something to hang onto while getting caught up in the album’s intricate sound design.

Nathan:

Immolation – Acts Of God

Hearing new straightforward death metal from Immolation just makes me happy. I wrote many sentences about this earlier, so for now I’ll just add that my enjoyment hasn’t dimmed in the days since finishing the review.

Matthew:

Klank – Between Unholy and Divine, Vol. 1

I’m not one that usually listens to industrial metal, but a friend recommended Klank’s new album and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit. It’s heavy enough to keep my interest and has a nice groove. Now it’s time to check out the band’s back catalogue!
