Upcoming Albums

Upcoming Albums – April, 8th

Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!

Jared is looking forward to Concilivm’s A Monument in Darkness, Lux Incerta’s Dark Odyssey, Scalpture’s Feldwärts, and Marrasmieli’s Martaiden Mailta:

Concilivm – A Monument in Darkness

Absolutely killer death metal with a frigid atmosphere. I can’t sing the praises of this band enough, check it out.

Lux Incerta – Dark Odyssey

French death doom that boils down to Paradise Lost worship. Still curious to hear the full thing.

Scalpture – Feldwärts

German death metal about WW1 in a style reminiscent of Asphyx. Should be an enjoyable listen.

Marrasmieli – Martaiden

After their impressive 2020 output, I’m seriously looking forward to this one. Marrasmieli make some awesome folk-black and are seriously underappreciated at that.

Rick is looking forward to Mors Principium Est’s Liberate the Unborn Inhumanity:

Mors Principium Est – Liberate the Unborn Inhumanity

I didn’t see as much publicity for this album as I would have liked, which is a shame because Mors Principium Est have consistently proved themselves to be a solid, yet underrated, melodeath band. Their ratio of riffs-per-song is incredible and every single guitar line ends up etched in the mind of a listener. In other words, I am already sure this album will feature many interesting moments.

Rutger is looking forward to Terzij de Horde’s In One of These, I Am Your Enemy:

Terzij de Horde – In One of These, I Am Your Enemy

Dutch post-black metal band Terzij de Horde release their second full-length this Friday. It’s their first release since 2015, so I’m curious to hear what they’ve done in these years.
