Upcoming Albums – July, 31st

Here are Metal Utopia’s most anticipated albums of the week!

JP and Sean are looking forward to Imperial Triumphant’s Alphaville:

Imperial Triumphant – Alphaville

After the dissonant, cacophonic masterpiece that is Vile Luxury, words cannot express how eager I am for Alphaville, Imperial Triumphant’s newest effort. If you want some avant/dark jazz-black metal or something that will just truly leave you utterly disturbed, then look no further.

A band that continues to get better and weirder with each release, Imperial Triumphant continue to prove that they are not to be put in a box. Blending blackmetal, jazz and neo-classical, Alphaville is destined to be an album that will sound like nothing else you will hear this year.

Leon is looking forward to Katalepsy’s Terra Mortuus Est:

Katalepsy – Terra Mortuus Est

If you’re like me and like your slam in small doses, then you should always go for the cream of the crop, and Katalepsy is one of those bands. They’ve been mastering their sound as they went, honing their tech death influences, so I’m sure this will be another step forward.

Matthew is looking forward to Pale Horseman’s For Dust Thou Art, and Veil of Delusions’s Untold Dimensions:

Pale Horseman – For Dust Thou Art

Pale Horseman mix a virulent strain of sludge and doom with apocalyptic visions. For Dust Thou Art is the band’s 5th release and promises to assault your eardrums with melancholy and despair.

Veil of Delusions – Untold Dimensions

Female-fronted symphonic/melodic metal from the Netherlands with catchy hooks and great singing. Untold Dimensions will be their sophomore release.
